Who we serve

Field data, reporting and platforms for organizations and NGOs

Spend the reporting week doing the programme instead.

How does Techmode help organizations & ngos?

Techmode builds field data collection, programme dashboards and donor reporting systems for Kenyan NGOs, foundations and large organizations. The systems work offline where the fieldwork does, and produce the reports funders ask for without a week of assembly. Projects start from KSh 80,000; platforms from KSh 450,000.

What we hear

The week, as it actually goes.

Field officers fill paper forms and someone types them up a week later.
What it costsEvery figure is a week old, and the handwriting errors are untraceable.
The donor report takes a week of copying between spreadsheets.
What it costsProgramme staff stop running the programme in order to describe it.
Each funder wants the same numbers in a different shape.
What it costsThe same work, redone per report, with a fresh chance to introduce a discrepancy.

What we install

The systems that fix that week.

01

Collection that works without signal

Forms filled on a phone in the field, held safely on the device, and synced when a connection returns.

02

One set of numbers

Indicators calculated once, from the source data, so two reports cannot disagree about the same month.

03

Donor reports that assemble

The same underlying figures shaped into each funder's format, with the source of every number traceable.

04

Access that matches the org chart

Field, programme, finance and leadership each see what they should, and every change is attributable.

What changes

Before, and after.

  • The old way

A field visit is recorded on paper today and entered next week.

    With Techmode

It is captured on the phone at the visit and syncs on the way back.

  • The old way

Reporting week means everyone stops and copies numbers.

    With Techmode

The report draws from the data already collected, and staff review rather than assemble.

  • The old way

Two reports quote different figures for the same indicator.

    With Techmode

There is one calculation, and both reports read from it.

Questions

Organizations & NGOs, answered.

  • Will it work where there is no network?

That is designed in for field tools rather than added later. Entries are stored on the device and sync when a connection returns, with conflicts surfaced rather than silently resolved. Field staff can see what has synced and what has not.

  • Can it produce the reports our funders require?

Yes — the same underlying figures shaped into each funder's format, with every number traceable back to the records behind it. Adding a new funder format later is a change of shape, not a change of data.

  • How is beneficiary data protected?

Access is role-based, actions are logged, and personal data is minimised to what the programme actually needs. Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 obligations are part of the design conversation, and we will tell you where the data is hosted rather than implying local residency.

  • We already use a standard data collection tool — do we replace it?

Often not. If it collects well and reports badly, we connect to it and build the reporting layer. Replacing a working collection tool is rarely the cheapest route to the problem you actually have.

  • What does something like this cost?

A focused automation or reporting layer starts at KSh 80,000. A full platform with tenancy, roles and offline collection starts at KSh 450,000. We scope and price in writing before any build begins.
