Who we serve
Member self-service and loan workflows for SACCOs
Audit-ready all year, not just in the week before the auditor arrives.
How does Techmode help saccos & financial services?
Techmode builds member self-service, digital loan workflows and reconciliation systems for Kenyan SACCOs, microfinance institutions and credit providers, each writing an audit trail as it runs. It suits organisations where loan applications move on paper and reconciliation is done by eye. Projects start from KSh 80,000.
What we hear
The week, as it actually goes.
Members call the office to ask their balance.
A loan application moves between three desks on paper.
The audit trail is reconstructed at audit time.
What we install
The systems that fix that week.
Members who can check for themselves
Balances, statements, contributions and loan status, available without calling the office.
Loan applications that move
Submitted digitally, scored against your own rules, routed for approval, with the member able to see where it is.
Reconciliation that keeps up
M-Pesa and bank lines matched to member accounts automatically, with exceptions queued and explained.
An audit trail written as you go
Who did what, when, and what it looked like before — recorded at the time rather than reassembled later.
What changes
Before, and after.
| The old way | With Techmode |
|---|---|
| A member phones for a balance and waits for someone to look it up. | They check it themselves, and the office phone is free for real problems. |
| A loan application sits on a desk while its owner is out. | It routes onward, with reminders, and the member can see the stage it is at. |
| The audit trail is assembled from files and memories. | It already exists, attached to the transaction it belongs to. |

Questions
SACCOs & financial services, answered.
Does the system decide who gets a loan?
Only within rules your credit committee sets and can read. It scores against those rules, approves inside the limits you define, and flags everything else for a human with the reasons attached. The decision authority stays where your policy puts it.
How does it handle SASRA reporting?
By keeping the underlying records clean and traceable, which is where most reporting pain actually comes from. We build the extracts your reporting needs against your current requirements — and we will confirm the exact formats with your finance lead rather than assuming them.
Can members access it on a basic phone?
Member self-service is built mobile-first and works on any modern browser. Where a genuinely basic handset matters, SMS-based balance enquiry is the usual answer, and we scope it explicitly rather than assuming everyone has a smartphone.
Will it reconcile M-Pesa to member accounts?
Yes, on rules you can read — reference, amount, timing, member. Anything ambiguous goes to an exceptions queue with the reason, and nothing is silently forced to match. That queue is usually the most useful screen in the system.
Where do we start if the budget is limited?
Usually with reconciliation, because it is the biggest single time cost and it improves the data everything else depends on. Member self-service is the natural second phase, and it is the one members notice.
