Who we serve

Software for Kenyan SMEs that have outgrown the spreadsheet

A five-person team, serving customers like a fifty-person one.

How does Techmode help smes & growing businesses?

Techmode builds websites, automations and internal tools for small and medium Kenyan businesses at the point where spreadsheets and WhatsApp stop coping. The work usually starts with one bottleneck — enquiries, quotations or invoicing — and expands from there. Projects start from KSh 80,000 and most launch within six weeks.

What we hear

The week, as it actually goes.

Everything important is in one person's head or one person's phone.
What it costsWhen they travel, the business slows down. When they leave, some of it goes with them.
We are busy but we cannot say which work is profitable.
What it costsPricing is set by feel, and the least profitable jobs are often the ones you chase hardest.
Adding a customer means adding an hour of admin.
What it costsGrowth costs headcount rather than producing margin, so it stops being worth it.

What we install

The systems that fix that week.

01

A site that actually takes enquiries

Fast on mobile data, findable on Google for what you sell, with WhatsApp and a form that both land somewhere your team looks.

02

Quotation to invoice, without retyping

The quote becomes the job, the job becomes the invoice, and the approval happens on a phone rather than waiting for someone to be at a desk.

03

One place the team can see the work

A simple board of what is in progress, what is waiting, and what is stuck — replacing four spreadsheets that disagreed with each other.

04

Answers to the questions you get every day

An agent on WhatsApp handling hours, prices, availability and delivery, and escalating anything that sounds like a real sale.

What changes

Before, and after.

  • The old way

An enquiry arrives at night and is answered the next morning, if someone remembers.

    With Techmode

It is answered in seconds and waiting, qualified, when the team opens the laptop.

  • The old way

The month's numbers exist only after someone spends two days assembling them.

    With Techmode

They are current, and the two days go to acting on them.

  • The old way

Only the owner can quote, because only the owner knows the prices.

    With Techmode

Anyone can quote, from the same price list, with approval where it matters.

Questions

SMEs & growing businesses, answered.

  • We are a small business — is this affordable?

Our smallest engagements start at KSh 80,000 and target one bottleneck rather than everything at once. That is deliberate: a small automation that pays for itself in a quarter is a better first project than a platform you are still paying for a year later.

  • Where should a growing SME start?

Usually with whatever costs the most hours per week, which is most often enquiry handling or quotation-to-invoice. We time the current process before proposing anything, so the first project is chosen on evidence rather than enthusiasm.

  • Do we need to replace the software we already pay for?

Usually not. Most of what we build connects what you have. We only recommend replacing a tool when keeping it would cost more in workarounds than changing it, and we show you the arithmetic.

  • What if we grow and outgrow what you build?

That is the intended outcome, and we build for it — you own the code and the accounts, the structure is documented, and each phase is designed so the next one extends it rather than replacing it.

  • How much of our time will this take?

Expect a half-day in the first week for the process walkthrough, then about an hour a week for reviews. The first week is where most of your input is needed, and skimping on it is the reliable way to get the wrong thing built.
